Winter Activities

The mountains surrounding Teton Valley boast an average of 500 inches of super-light powder snow every year. One theory has it that storms are stalled on the Idaho side of the Teton Range, before moving on to the east side of the range and Jackson Hole. Regardless of why we get so much snow, the benefits are obvious: winter sports are vibrant in Teton Valley!

There are plenty of different ways to enjoy all of our snow, whether you are into snowboarding, Alpine or Nordic skiing, snow machining, snow shoeing or back country skiing. There are plenty of competitions during the winter months including the nordic skiing Teton Ridge Classic, the Spud Chase at Teton Springs Resort, and a variety of downhill events at Grand Targhee Resort.
